Pavan Vaish, Chief Executive Officer, IBM Daksh Business Process Services


Pavan Vaish, Chief Executive Officer of IBM Daksh, provides strategic guidance and leadership to all client-facing Business Units and the Shared Services. This includes an employee-base of 30,000* professionals working across 26 locations in India and the Philippines.


Pavan was a co-founder of Daksh eServices, which started operations in January, 2000 and was subsequently acquired by IBM in June, 2004. Pavan has been instrumental behind the rapid transformation of the startup to the global market leader that IBM Daksh is today. Pavan has also played a key role in the successful integration of Daksh into the Globally Integrated Enterprise (GIE) model of IBM, enabling it to attain scalability within a short period of time. Today, IBM Daksh has an ever-increasing footprint that spans multiple continents and diverse customer segments, successfully combining the advantages of IBM with the fleet-footedness of Daksh.

Passionate about building organizations that leave a legacy, Pavan has worked hard to create an inclusive, global culture in the company. He is a member of the IBM Integration & Values Team, a senior leadership team instituted by IBM's Chairman of Board and CEO Sam Palmisano. Pavan is also a member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) and a charter member of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TIE).


Perhaps, since his first job was as a Physics teacher at his alma mater, India's premier residential school, The Doon School, Pavan has grown to be passionate about educational initiatives for underprivileged children and personally supports many NGO initiatives in this area. Pavan is an alumnus of the prestigious Indian Institute Technology (IIT), Kharagpur and holds a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University. He is also a Graduate of the Advanced Management Program of the Harvard Business School.


An ardent traveler and dog lover, Pavan is married to Ila, who is a homemaker. Pavan and Ila have two children and they live in Gurgaon, India.
